Horsebit loafers were originally made famous by Gucci in 1953. Easy to wear, these can be dressed up / down and always come with gold, silver, or antique gold "bit" hardware.
This variety is a crossover between a penny loafer and a bit loafer which is a slightly more modern interpretation that we absolutely love.
Made with Repello Suede from the Charles Stead Tannery in England, a special "Gum Oil" application acts to darken and enrich the base dying and further enhance the rich appearance and touch of the suede.
Repello Gum Oil is also treated to be water-resistant. Water-based spills will generally “bead up” on the surface and can be blotted away with an absorbant cloth. Always end the cleaning process brushing gently with a suede brush. Repello suede resists staining, and preserves appearance. Leather stays soft and pliable. Comfort, softness, colour and natural breathability remain unaffected.
Blake construction allows for these to be resoled. The sole is stitched to the upper unlike many other Bit loafer brands which simply use glue or cement.
Ready to wear with a rubber protector already added. No trip to the cobbler needed!
